يعد العلامة مکي بن أبي طالب فقيهاً، ومفسراً، ومقرئاً، ومحدثاً، وأديباً، ويُعد تفسيره (الهداية إلى بلوغ النهاية) ذا قيمة علمية عالية، ومرجعاً لأئمة التفسير ممن جاءوا بعده. ويمثل الحديث النبوي في تفسيره رکيزة أساسية اعتمد عليها في توضيح الألفاظ القرآنية، وبيان الأحکام الفقهية، وغيرها من جوانب التفسير، ومن ثمَّ فإن دراسة هذا الجانب في تفسيره تکشف عن ملمح بارز من ملامح منهجه في التفسير. وتأتي أهمية هذا البحث في أنه يُلقي الضوء على جانب من إسهامات مکي بن أبي طالب في الحديث النبوي وعلومه،  کما أنه يُبين ملامح منهجه في الاستشهاد بالحديث النبوي في تفسيره، وأخيرا فإنه يرصد منهجه في عرض الحديث النبوي والترجيح به من خلال تفسيره
 
The scholar Makki bin Abi Talib is considered a jurist, an interpreter, a reciter, an updater, and an author, and his interpretation (guidance to the end) is of high scientific value, and a reference for the imams of interpretation who came after him. The prophetic hadith represents in its interpretation a basic pillar on which he relied in clarifying Qur’anic expressions, clarifying jurisprudential rulings, and other aspects of interpretation. Therefore, studying this aspect in his interpretation reveals a prominent feature of his approach to interpretation. The importance of this research stems from the fact that it sheds light on a part of Makki bin Abi Talib's contributions to the prophetic hadith and its sciences, as well as the features of his approach to citing the prophetic hadith in its interpretation, and finally it monitors his approach to presenting the prophetic hadith and weighting it through its interpretation
