اليزيدية إحدى الطوائف أو الفرق التي يتجاذب حولها الخلاف بين الباحثين، ويأتي هذا البحث ليسلط الضوء على أهم الاشکاليات المتعلقة بهذه الطائفة من حيث النسبة والتسمية، وکذلک من حيث النشأة والأصل، کما يسلط الضوء کذلک على أهم الأفکار والمعتقدات الخاصة بتلک الطائفة، وهل ثمة تأثيرات حدثت على هذه الأفکار والمعتقدات أم أن الطائفة کانت بمنأى عن ذلک؟ کما يسلط البحث الضوء على مدى موائمة أفکار الطائفة ومعتقداتها مع التصور الإسلامي أم أن الأمر يتعدى ذلک.
